Fly Fishing Day Trips

The region around the southern Lake District town Puerto Varas is one of the most beautiful and best quality areas for fishing in Chile. We have several options to enjoy on a one-day fishing trip.

-We float Maullin River on three different sections, each one for a full fishing day. This river allows us to make great float trips to catch brown trout, most of the time using streamers, floating or sinking tip lines.   

 

-Floating and wading Petrohue River on two different sections, each one for a full fishing day. This river is one of the most beautiful rivers of Chile, and combined with its great fishing for sure this float trip is one of the best in the Lake District area. A float trip to this river offers good conditions for streamer fishing, nymphing, and in the summer for dry flies.

 

-Also, depending on conditions, we could include fishing stops at some of our favorite small streams in the area for wading.

 

Depending on the time of year it is possible to catch several different kinds of  trout and salmon. Normally, trout fishing is better at the beginning of the season until January. From February it begins to be better for King Salmon, which lasts normally until April or May. Also, there are some short runs of Atlantic salmon at the end of the season in April.
