Six days left to Kickstart Patagon Journal

E-mail Print

Recently, the Quicksilver company made a generous donation to our Kickstarter campaign, and we are now more than one-third of the way to our goal of $15,000 by October 6.

Still, Kickstarter is all or nothing: if we don't receive the necessary pledges to meet that goal, we do not receive any of the money raised through the campaign and your payment via the Kickstarter site will not be charged.

If you've been on the fence, now is your chance to help support independent journalism about the Patagonia region of Chile and Argentina.

This letter is a reminder that there are less than six days left to kickstart Patagon Journal. Patagonia is an extraordinary part of the world that hosts some of the planet's last, large expanses of wild nature; it deserves and needs a high quality, bilingual print and digital magazine that does not just showcase its many natural and cultural treasures but helps to protect them.

We have been developing this project for nearly two years -- the first issue will be published. But we are a start-up, we need more resources than we currently have to ensure that it is a successful beginning and to provide the best possible writing, photography and video about issues and places in Patagonia over the long-term.

If you know of anyone who may want to take part in this project, please pass along the url:

Thanks for your consideration. On behalf of all the writers, photographers, and others who have helped this magazine, we look forward to shipping you our inaugural issue and launching the iPad and digital editions.

Best regards,
